Chinaecherem Nwaubani is a Partner and leads the firm’s International Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practice.
A dynamic courtroom advocate with over 17 years’ experience, Chinaecherem has since her admission as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, built a robust career in litigation, representing clients in a broad spectrum of disputes across various levels of court in Nigeria, including election petition courts/tribunals. She has also developed considerable expertise in the disparate but interconnected fields of arbitration and ADR. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and an Accredited Mediator who has successfully assisted parties in reaching negotiated settlements. She has been on the Panel of Neutrals of the Enugu State Multi Door Courthouse (ESMDC) since 2019.
Chinaecherem is also an active member of the legal community in Nigeria. She previously served as Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Enugu Branch and was a member of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the NBA from 2020 to 2024. She served as Personal Executive Secretary to the President of the NBA, during which time she contributed to the drafting of several key regulatory instruments, including the Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners, 2023; Legal Practitioners’ Remuneration Order, 2023; Nigerian Bar Association Remuneration Committee Guidelines, 2024; and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA-AMLC) Anti-money Laundering Appointment and Examination Rules and Protocols, 2024. She is currently serving as a member of the National Committee for the Review of the National Arbitration Act, 2023 and the National Policy on Arbitration and ADR, 2024.
